Keep Your Driver's License

If you're like most of us, you can't afford to lose your driver's license. If you are pulled over and charged with DUII in Oregon, however, you will automatically lose your license unless you take steps to convince the DMV to return your right to drive. You can also lose your license for driving without insurance; and with a recent update in software making it easier to do, the DMV has been revoking licenses from people who applied for fake licenses years ago.

I can help. As a Portland DMV hearings attorney with 15 years of experience, I can represent you at the DMV driver's license administrative hearings and defend you from the DUII criminal charges (often called DUI charges). I know how important your license is, so I will do everything possible to help you keep your right to drive.

Fighting for Your License

There are a few main threats to your driver's license from the DMV. I can represent you at the administrative hearings with the DMV regarding:

  • DUII Charges: Even if you are never convicted, the DMV will automatically suspend your license for failing or refusing a breath test.
  • Notice of Suspension from the DMV: Did you apply for a fake ID when you were younger? Using its new facial recognition software, the DMV has been suspending licenses from people who have applied for fake identification. Recently, people in their 30s and older have been losing their licenses for crimes committed in their teens.
  • Driving without insurance: For no-insurance tickets, I can represent you at the administrative hearings. If you had a good-faith belief that you did have insurance at the time of the charges, we might be able to get your license back.

Time Is of the Essence ∙ 10 Days to File for a Hearing After a DUI Charge

When you are charged with a DUI, you have 10 days to file for a hearing with the DMV. If you miss this deadline, the DMV will automatically revoke your license.
