About the Criminal Defense Firm of David J. Celuch, Attorney at Law
I'm criminal defense attorney David J. Celuch. In 2003, I started my own criminal defense law firm in Portland, Oregon, after working as a public defender for four years and then handling criminal defense cases for another small law office.
Defending people charged with crimes has always been the focus of my legal career and I get a great deal of satisfaction helping people through difficult times. No matter what kind of charge you are facing — drug charges, sexual assault, murder — I am here to help.
Appeals Require a Unique Approach
I thrive on difficult cases; that's why I handle criminal appeals and post-conviction relief. These cases often require a unique approach and creative thinking. My ability to think outside the box — to identify the fine distinctions that can turn a case around — has helped me build a reputation for effective appellate representation in courts across Oregon.
Community Involvement
I am active in the legal community. I am a member of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association as well as the Oregon State Bar. I conduct educational seminars for other lawyers on DUI/DWI defense and I wrote a chapter in the DUI defense manual for lawyers. Drunk driving is one area in which I have handled a great many cases, though I am fully prepared to handle any criminal case.
I'm also involved in the larger community. I volunteer with a community organization that helps people who have a criminal record find better employment. I know the challenges people face after a criminal conviction. I work hard to minimize the damage of a criminal record and to help people get on with their life.
